LA-based, British artist Tahnee Lonsdale, announces her new solo exhibition, Tender Loin, at Dellasposa Gallery next month. Lonsdale’s compelling paintings address relationships, sex, and female empowerment.
The exhibition sees Lonsdale's protest of the here and now with expressive, bending, shape-shifting nudes that represent the body as a locus of experience rather than a site observed. Instead of indulging in mimesis, she paints the figure with a persuasive force that can change one's stance according to the different values and systems the creator attributes to them.

Tahnee Lonsdale - Panel Discussion
An outstanding panel of speakers participating, including Bianca Chu (Deputy Director of Sotheby's gallery) and Kiki Mazzucchelli (international curator). The event charts the development of Lonsdale's newest direction of semi-abstract painting and her vibrant portrayal of contemporary figuration. Responding to current discussions on feminism while basing her practice on a close examination of relational complexity, Lonsdale creates a unique oeuvre including some of the most powerful paintings of today.
