Kinder Aggugini’s style has been described as “The fictitious marriage of Coco Chanel and Sid Vicious”
The fantasy union of these two reactionaries acts as Kinder’s prevailing inspiration. Following the idea that the refined Coco was actually more hardcore than Sid the punk has shaped his signature aesthetic of rock’n’roll elegance.
Kinder Aggugini was born and raised in Italy before escaping to England to study both at St Martins School of Art and on London’s Savile Row. His career took him to work for John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith, before relocating overseas to design at some of the world’s most prestigious luxury houses, Versace and Calvin Klein, as ghost designer. In 2010, Kinder stepped into the spotlight with his first own name collection – exclusively stocked at Dover Street Market, following a personal visit from Rei Kawakubo.
After 5 years at London Fashion Week Kinder left the runway to create an innovative retail concept, KINDARE a luxury brand for men and women with a shop and atelier that permits every item to be customized.
Having found the perfect spot in the prestigious Connaught Village, Kinder created a space that combines a design studio, an atelier - where everything is exclusively created and customized – and a contemporary shop fitted with Kinder’s unique bespoke furnishing, to create a retail experience fused with luxury and fun.
With a long list of fans that include actors, musicians, gallerists and eccentrics KINDARE is set to become the go-to place to be famous, foolish or fabulous.
Kinder’s collections combines sartorial techniques of his Savile Row training, with a romantic interest in history. Impeccable tailoring, conceptual styling, deep research into fabrics and an obscure approach to detail, blend tradition with scientifically mastered treatments.
