Independent shops have adapted to ensure they supply essentials and luxury items to the local community. Home delivery from local shops has risen during the COVID-19 crisis. Local shops have responded to the crisis to support people in their communities has been incredible.

Connaught Village shops are now offering home delivery services and a number of eateries have adjusted their businesses to help their local communities, including two of Connaught Village’s independents – Buchanans Cheesemonger, purveyor of the finest European cheeses, and Argentinian café Abasto.

Alongside its usual delicious selection of cheese, Buchanans Cheesemonger are also offering charcuterie, fruit and veg, bread, pizza bases, eggs, wine, cider, store cupboard essentials and delicious treats including chocolate and biscuits. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10am – 6pm. Deliveries and click & collect services will be up and running shortly!

Abasto, known for its Argentinian Wine and delicious empanadas, is now offering a variety of products such as olive oil, biscuits, fresh pasta, marmalade as well as empanadas and freshly made salads, on the counter.

Just a stone’s throw away, the renowned Connaught Cellars, experts in the wine field, is offering a unique range of carefully selected wines from France and Italy, from affordable bottles to prestigious vintages. Run by David Farber and his dog Cooper, the wine merchant mixes tradition with innovation, importing directly from small independent producers. Connaught Cellars is open and is also delivering directly to your doorstep with Deliveroo, customers can pay online or via contactless card payment. Their website also sells a wide range of divine wines, from rare bottles to interesting regional grapes produced by acclaimed winemakers.

On Connaught Street, Saint Aymes named the prettiest cafe in London was founded and exclusively designed by two sisters, Michela and Lois Wilson. The cafe offers a variety of pink lattes, 23ct gold chocolate bars as well as made to order cakes with next day collection available. The sisters strive to sprinkle the uplifting magic of beauty into everyday experiences. Saint Aymes is currently open for take away and Deliveroo in the area.

Le Pain Quotidien remains open for take away and home delivery. They are also offering 20% off discounts for takeaway users when quoting “LOCKDOWNLOVE”.
