Inside Out Festival Illuminates London

As the nights draw in, get out and discover Westminster City Council’s Art Series, part of their popular Inside Out festival.  Delivered in collaboration with MTArt Agency and Westminster Reveals this free outdoor event includes illuminated installations to surprise and delight visitors on the streets of Westminster this autumn.

In our very own Connaught Village, a striking artwork is illuminating the front window of 9 Porchester Place. The circular neon work poses the question, ‘Do you want to change the world with me? an invitation intended to activate your soul’s higher purpose. The artwork is created by Lauren Baker, a British contemporary multidisciplinary artist who currently lives and works in London. She uses mesmeric, glowing shapes which draw on ancient symbolism and spiritual beliefs and employs neon words, using light to evoke positive thoughts to seep into your subconscious and start a thread of high frequency consciousness.

Baker’s work also features in striking installations across Westminster for visitors to discover. At Victoria Embankment Gardens: 'All your life you were waiting for this moment', which was inspired by lyrics from The Beatles and the book that changed Baker’s life ‘The Power of now’ by Ekhart Tolle. While at Christchurch Gardens: 'The trees are watching' is an evocative narrative of the space you are viewing the artwork in.
